There are some elements of the position that could force you out of your comfort zone.

I was fortunate enough to have that at my location. Doing this, along with having a strong support system with your staff and management is vital to avoid burn out. Set aside specific time to rest, engage in social events, spend time with family etc and stick with that plan.

Here's a tip become as disciplined as you can with managing your free time. Nonetheless, any personal training job is going to require quite a bit of sacrifice. It can be quite a physical and mental drain if you are the only trainer at your location as well. Sleep can be hard to come by, which can be a bit counter-intuitive for someone who's supposed to be looked at as a beacon for health and wellness. A typical day starts around 3:45 am and doesn't end to about 8:30 pm. Ultimately as the head trainer, you're going to dictate the vibe of your gym, so it's imperative that you bring high energy and focus to each and every camp. There's an emphasis put on trainers to help clients meet weight, fitness and health goals which in turn helps build a passionate environment in the gym. If you have a strong passion for training and helping people achieve their goals, this is a good company to work for. The afternoon camps are a little harder because many - more. Rule of thumb: The morning camps are better than the afternoon camps because everyone in the morning is self-motivated and fun to be around. I treat my clients like my family and I'm not even a trainer (yet). Sitting around and watching everyone else talk is a cardinal sin. You HAVE to bring a lot of energy in order to maintain that client base and you MUST be an outgoing person. Long story short, this job is excellent if you're blessed with the right leadership.

My head trainer wanted to break the company-wide record for signups, my franchise partners wanted to, and sooner rather than later, I did too. Not only that, but everyone at my location is focused on being the best. Management was all-in, many times being there 24/7 to make sure their business stayed up to standards. I was a night owl, and this job shouldn't have fit for me, but having spent time in the gym community and around different gym cultures, I quickly realized the culture here is special. It didn't hurt that I willingly took the 4:15am-10:30am shifts M-Th (sometimes Fridays). The head trainer, who I've known for years, got me the job on the spot without an interview because they needed willing people. The main reason for choosing my subject line is that my franchise partners were ideal for me. As a soon-to-be college graduate with a bachelor's of science in kinesiology, my job as a support specialist is ideal. I just started working at a brand new location and have quickly realized that this company is something I'd like to stick with for the long haul.
